Marcella Yayou Rogers, MD
President & Founder
Serving the Needy Globally, Inc., was founded by Marcella Yayou Rogers, MD, in June 2018. She attended the Saint Joseph’s primary school and Saint Joseph’s vocational secondary school in Moyamba. She graduated with a Bachelor of science degree in Education from the Njala University college, University of Sierra Leone. She studied medicine in Berlin, Germany, at Frei University and did her residency in vascular surgery. She did her internship in general surgery with the Baylor College of Medicine at the Ben Taub Hospital in Houston, Texas, and pediatric surgery at the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. She has a diploma in Community Health and Tropical Medicine from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, Institute of Tropical Medicine. Since 2015, she has volunteered for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). In 2018, she helped to raise $1.8 million dollars for the JDRF in Atlanta,GA. She volunteered for the Arms of Care International’s 2017 mission trip to Guyana, as well as health fairs in the Atlanta area. Since 2016, she has volunteered for African Christian Fellowship USA’s south region mission trips to Sierra Leone. After visiting four continents, she decided to help the needy globally. She says, “With your support, we can make a difference in people’s lives.”
